questions about puffers

I was just wondering what kind of temperment the puffer fish are. Will they eat snails or hermit crabs?
I have a 55 gal with a DSB about 55lbs of live rock and 3 fish(3stripe damsel, yellowtail damsel, and a tomato clown). I also have 2 brittle/serpent stars, some snails and a couple hermits.

Everytime I go to the LFS I always stop to see the different puffers. I appreciate any light you guys can shed on the subject.

Yes, puffers will make short work of snails or crabs. The smaller sharpnose puffers may be less agressive with fish tankmates, but definitely risky with inverts.

Thanks for the quick reply, I guess I'll just have to control the urge to buy one when I go to the fish store.
