Just moved the tank, is it cycling again?

Hello,

I just moved my 4 month old 65 gal tank.. Base on some forum members advice , I did not discard my 3 inch sand bed and also I retained 50 % of the tanks old water .All the livestocks are doing fine and in great condition.

My question is will the tank start a new cycle again. Like when you are starting over again?

Not exactly. In order to have a "cycle," you have to have something dying to produce ammonia.

It is possible that "something" might have been harmed in transit and, if so, it may die off and produce a "certain amount" of ammonia. Whether this is enough to be noticeable or not is doubtful.

Obviously you don't have as much beneficial bacteria right now as you had just before you began this move but that's a temporary situation that will rectify itself in no time at all.
