Hey all just joined the forum and set up my tank today. i have a 20h with cascade 200 filter and just a basic uv light. i am saving up for a t5. i just added my bottom layer of substrate and live sand. i also added some dead coral that i got from the pet shop my water temp is good @ 77 degrees but i added way to much salt and it is thru the roof. just curious how i would get it down. should i just swap out some water and everything. i added the rec. amount of conditioner and i also added fritz zyme #9 . Just looking for some tips and helpful hints to have a thriving tank along with any other "tools" i might need to make it a better tank i may eventually add some coral and live rock but right now i just want a fish only tank to make sure i really wanna get into it. right now i have a 150 gallon acyrlic tank in my spare room that i got for free. so i just wanna start off small and cheap and if i get into it move up to the big tank and if not anyone wanna buy a 150 gallon for cheap lol

WELCOME TO REEFLAND !

Glad you found us.

You may want to begin with this post for some things you may want to consider for your new aquarium: Setting Up a FOWLR Aquarium

After you read the above thoroughly and understand what is involved, you may wish to decide whether you'd like to make the commitment to the hobby. It is a very rewarding hobby. It is also a very challenging hobby which for some, the challenge makes it part of the attraction. The results can be mind-boggling and very satisfying, as with almost any earned accomplishment.
