French Angel are LARGE angelfish so they require a tank and swimming spare of more than 125 gallons, you put him in a extremely tight tank.

I doubt biting the gramma has anything to do with the demise. I would say it is stress from being in such a small tank.

cant be true

he was only 2 inches in a 30g tank he couldnt have been stressed. Im getting a bigger tank soon becuz i got a blue hippo tang a couple of days ago and ive been told they grow big.

Lots of things besides tank size contribute to fish stress, but if the fish was that small tank size may not be as a big of a factor. Was the fish eating before you bought it? How long was it at the LFS? There are LOTS of things that we will never know, that may have doomed the fish. How was the fish captured, for instance?

LFS= Local Fish Store

Did the fish eat any prepared foods, like frozen, flake, or pellets?

THen it was probably dead when you bought it.... (Not literally of course) Always make sure you see a fish eat prepared foods BEFORE you buy it.
