Morning all,
if I am setting up an FOWLR tank do I require a marine blue glow light or is the power glo(white) sufficient, I will hopefully have an Anemone in the tank as well |

Lighting is really not a concern with most fish. You are free to pretty much suit yourself when it comes to lighting a FOWLR tank.
However, an anemone is an entirely different matter. All ten of the clownfish-hosting sea anemones require substantial light, more than what normal output fluorescents provide. And it also means it's no longer a FOWLR tank. ![]() P.S. -- Check out this article on the care of anemones.

Thanks Ninong,
the articule was very interesting, i guess i was under the mis conception that a clown fish needs an Anemone,I would I guess still like to try and keep one , but as with all my questions here I am very very new to marine aquriums have had fresh water (african Cyclids etc) for 15 years and I am open to advise and help, so if you feel it is un neccesary then I shall avoid it |
