morning all,LIVE ROCK

Hi got my new live rock at 5 am this morning and have placed it in my tank,has all sorts of goodies living in and on it, I am going to try and post some pics before and after,also just did some tests yesterday 10% water change and all good now I have
PH 8.0 (ouch)
ALK 1.6 to 1.7
Nitrite 0.2 ppm
Nitrate 2ppm
Sg 1.025
Temp 24 celsius

WHAT IS HAPPENING

Looks pretty good. Where did the rock come from? Was it shipped to you, uncured? If so, expect some die-off and an increase in ammonia and nitrites.

yes it is uncured I believe straight from the reef, Cairns Australia

You should expect some die-off over the next feew days to a week. During this time, you will see the ammonia and nitrites increase and then begin to drop back off. You don't need to change anything in your system, keep the lights running on their normal schedule, keep the flow cranked up and keep the skimmer operating effectively.
