FOWLR lighting question
Does live rock require a specific amount of light wattage to sustain it?, if so, whats the average for a 75G tank?

Re: FOWLR lighting question
Most aquarists just expect the Live Rock to provide calcareous algae growth. That is, Coralline algae. Coralline algae doesn't need a lot of light. About 6 hours a day would suit it. Actinic and full spectrum lighting combined would be the best for it. The more light the more such growth is encouraged, providing there are enough other needed nutrients.
10K PC; total of 100-125W should suffice for the 75. If you expect to allow the LR to flourish with some of its natural corals, then you need to treat it more like a reef tank and provide lighting as if for that system. For the most part, the fishes in a FOWLR system will ravage any other life the LR might have that needs intense lighting. Usually, the lights you choose that show off the fishes will be adequate.
