What fish and inverts can I keep with a anemone?


I want to get clownfish with a few inverts and some starfish. What would be compatible?

There are several groups of fishes that will not bother an Anemone. Obviously most Damsels, Tangs, Rabbitfish, Wrasses, Gobies, Hawkfish, etc. are in this group. Within each group not mentioned, are exceptions or those in a 'grey' area, or those that likely will. Many Butterflyfishes would bother the Anemone; some won't. The fish in the other groups are best looked up on the Internet to determine what is known about them, and what they eat in the wild and in captivity.

A note you be should be aware of: Anemonefish bother an Anemone. The Anemone does not 'like' hosting a fish. The fish annoys the Anemone and makes it harder for the Anemone to survive. An Anemone may seem live well up to 18 months but actually be slowly dieing without the proper light and tank conditions.
