New peice of live rock...QT?
I got a peice of live rock from a fellow reefer. Is it advisable that I QT it for a month so things like ick cant get transferred?

Yes. Although the target should be at least 6 weeks.
There are other concerns and that might be bristle worms, Aiptasia, or any other hitchhikers you don't want in your aquarium. Be on the lookout for all things coming out of the rock. You be in control of what gets into your aquarium.
