Curious

I've noticed quite an accumulation of these thin very straight tubes about maybe a 1/2" long. Now tonight, I just happened to be peeking in the tank and I saw some of these things dropping out of the rock? Is it poop, or egg casings or what?

Re: Curious

I used to know what those things were. I'm getting old. Some should have a green tip to them. They are plants. When the fish hit my tanks, they all disappeared.

Lee, are you talking about Neomeris sp. algae?

Re: Curious

Yes, Gene. That's what I was referring to. Not sure if that is hank was describing.

Hank:
Do a Google search for images of Neomeris and see if those photos are what you are seeing.

Thanks Gene.

Re: Curious

Hello Lee,
No what I was asking about looks more animal in origin than algae, but I do have the Neomeris also. I will send a photo, hope it helps.curious-p3040003.jpgThanks, Hank in SoCal

Re: Curious

Definately not algae. It looks like the tubes of some polychaete worms, also known and called feather duster worms. I wouldn't worry overly about them.
