Emerald crabs keep dying!

Has anyone here had a hard time keeping Emerald crabs alive???

My water parameters (PH, Ammonia, Nitrite) are in specs. Except the nitrate levels which fluctuate between 5-30ppm depending on how recent a water change was performed.

MY EMERALDS keep dying! In my city, they're $25 a piece at the LFS so the fact that my third one has died is really not cool.

The first one died within a week of acclimatizing it.

The second lasted about a month and appeared to be healthy by eating everything in sight. Out of nowhere, he just fell belly up!

The third lasted about 4 days!

My 25 gallon tank is still juvenile, as it has been running almost 4 months now. My Ocellaris Clown, two mollies, snails and hermit crabs are living without problem.

I have 20 lbs. of Fiji rock in there and it is growing algae. Ive supplemented the water with a little calcium.

I thought Emerald Crabs were supposed to be hardy! So what am I doing wrong?

how come you went with the mollies?

the mollie's were used as tester fish to cycle the aquarium at the begining, i just haven't had the heart to flush them and don't want to bag them and drive them to the pet store, so i decided to keep them for the time being...

fair enugh, no way i could flush them eather.

you could start a fresh water aquarium as well

they can be just as pretty i have one my self.
but its not half as good as this one.
