can i add these fish
I am new and would like to add some more fish. I have a 75g been running for 2 months. The fish I have now are 2 occ clowns, 1 yellow tang, 1 blue hippo, 1 purlpe dottyback, 1 green mandarin, 1 long spined urchin, 1 coral banded shrimp, 1 pepermint shrimp, and 10-15 snails hermits. Lots of live sand and live rock, and some polyps(I think they are). I was wondering if I could add a chalk basslet, couple bangaii cardinal and a couple yellow or green chromis. Im a newbie so any help would be appreciated.

First off what type of filtration do you have?

Re: can i add these fish
In general, Tangs are best suited for aquariums that are at least 6 feet long. So the two tangs you have there now really should be removed.
The current system as you've described it is suitable for about 9 bio load units. You currently have 14 bio load units stocked. An aquarium can be packed until the biological filter fails and the fish die, or in this hobby, the preference is to be conservative and stock below the capacity. I wouldn't add anything to that young aquarium for several months, after removing the Tangs.

I dont know the name of the filter. The guy sold it to me used. It is a wet/dry that was used for a 125g. What type of protien skimmer do you reccomend. Im getting that this weekend. I would prefer to spend less than 100 on it. If I got rid of the tangs, would I be able to put the other fish in it?

Re: can i add these fish
The two Tangs I assigned 3 bio-load units to each. Removing them reduces the bio load limit to approximately 8. The Chalk Basselet could be added after our remove the Tangs, if you wait for the tank to mature another few months and install the skimmer.
After the tank has matured another few months, you could, after removing the Tangs, add either a group of Bangaii or a group of Chromis. The Chromis do well in a group of 5. Skimmer choice is up to you. Make sure you buy one that is rated for a tank three times the volume of your system. For me, the most critical point is how easy it is to maintain and clean. Ask to see how to clean it. If you don't like what it takes to clean and maintain it, look at another. You should look around at different models and learn how they are cleaned so you can make an informed decision. I just buy mine locally (from a local builder). Most are reliable to varying degrees. Don't be swayed by a sales pitch. There are only three different basic styles and each does its job with varying levels of maintenance and care so be sure to ask about those features. Good luck!
