    WELCOME TO REEFLAND!

Many of your questions are answered in this post:
    Setting Up a FOWLR Aquarium

Using well water is tricky. You should test it for:
    ammonia
    nitrites
    nitrates
    sulfates
    phosphates
and consider running it through a carbon filter before using it.

You know, with that size aquarium, why not just buy distilled water from your grocery store? Then you can skip all the concerns and not have to buy any additives or do any tests of the source water.

I have a 12 gallon tank. I used cycle on the tank and it worked wonders, i was worried that it was just water tho hehe!. Are you going to use LR personaly if you dont want corals, just a few fish and a turbo snail etc then you dont need LR. I dont run on LR and my 3 fish are fine. I am up grading because i want bigger fish but there are no other problems with my small fish only tank
