Just bought a Black Angel at the lfs. Don't know much about him. He was a pretty little fish so we bought him. Any info on him would be great.

They become strikingly boring looking (IMO) after they lose those yellow stripes. Does it have two or three yellow stripes? That's the difference (if I'm remembering correctly) between juvenile french and juve blacks, I can't remember which is which though (sorry). Feed him as you would any angel, formula one, angel food, buy him a sponge or two to pick on. Etc. He'll get pretty big, 15" or so, with a deeper body than say a queen or emporer. So depending on the size tank you have, he may outgrow it. HTH

Thanks for the info. He had 3 yellow strips. The next morning we found him sucked up to the power head. He had done quite well until then. Ate the night before and looked perfectly at home. Oh well, our luck with angels has never been that good anyways. thanks again.

Sorry about your fish...But, FWIW It was a juv. French angle if Bioman was correct about the ID (two stripes V. three stripes)
