Setting up 60gal tank

Hey guys,

I have been involved in the fishkeeping hobby for about 5 yrs now however have only ever kept freshwater. If i was looking at upgrading a 60 gal freshwater aquarium into a saltwater aquarium what sort of new equipment would i need to purchase? i have a 404 fluval, 2 heaters, and a reasonable air pump. If i were to purchase a protein skimmer and 50lbs of live rock with the appropriate sand would that work? Also, down the road when its fully matured... would a marine betta have enough room to thrive? and what else could i put with one?

Hi Scott,

Protein skimmer, liverock, good source water (RO/DI), good maitenance and good water movement will do the trick.

Although the Marine Betta is a relatively mellow fish, it should have more space than the 45. I would suggest at least a 90 for the MB.
