    Majestic Angel

I want to get a majestic angel, I had one before that I added to a newly cycled tank, and he didn't eat of course, and died on the 4th day. Has anyone had luck with one? What suggestions do you recommend when adding fish to tank?

LONG AGO, I had one. The fish I bought was on sale because it was in the shop so long. Had that fish for several years. I would check to see if the fish was eating in the shop. You can try the fake pinch of food test. Pretend you are going to feed them, if the fish looks intersted, it will more than likely eat for you. Since it is an expensive fish you can watch in the tank to see how it does.

I bought mine Last August. I have had no problem with it eating, in fact he is a real pig. I would definitely second making sure it eats before you bring it home. Not a cheep fish to go belly up after 4 days. It does stress easier than most of my other fish. You can tell it is stressed after some tank maintenance it will have some color splotching, but this has never been a major problem. Also on tank size, it does need plenty of room to swim/hide.

I was going to buy it at Bioreef on Atlantic, but someone already bought it. I will wait until they get another one. Also, they can order one for you. The mid-side are about $109.00.

I saw several at Arlington Aquarium last week and you are right they get bought real fast. I saw a queen at Aqua Zoo last weekend and it was about 1 1/2" for $80!!! My tank has been running for less than 2 months and I want to make sure that its stable enough to maintain fishes this expensive, so I settled for a psychadelic mandarin. I have thousands of pods and 200 lbs of live rock to keep it alive and happy.
Anyway, are you a member of the Northeast FL Marine Aq. Society that meets every last thursday of the month at the library in Gateway??? I'd like to check them out, one of these days and see what's going on

Abet, you want to wait for at least 6 months before you buy any angels/expensive fish.
