    Missing fish

Hey guys I don't know where they went. I had 3 cardinal fish just added about 1 1/2 months ago. They have all disappeared. I thought maybe a Mantis shrimp but none of my other fish are gone (Clown, 3 Yellowtail Damsels, and a Yellow Tang. Tang and Clown have been in the tank about 2 years now. Damsels about 2 months. Any ideas??????

I don't know your marine system, however, check all plumbing, overflow areas, sump, etc., etc. Then check all dry areas (rug, carpet, floor, etc.). If still no luck, you can move some things around looking for a carcass. But if you have carnivorous snails, bristleworms, starfish, etc. then they could be chewing on them somewhere in hiding.

    Re: Missing fish

Hey Lee I also changed the substrate from crushed coral to sand as I was changing it, I looked for the snails and hermits I have in the aquarium. I found all of them but no parts of the cardinals. I had to move the LR so I could R&R substrate and saw nothing.

    System:
    75 gallon tank
sugar size sand bed about 3" deep
    120 Lbs. LR
    RemoraC pro skimmer
    maxi 1200
fluval canstier filter for flow only no medium in it
emperor hang on for flow only

    Stocked as follows:
    1 Yellow Tang
    1 Maroon Clown
    3 Yellowtail Damsels
    1 Fancy Red Sea Serpent
3 Dwarf Blue Leg Hermits (about 1/4" each)
    1 Red Sea Star
    4 Super Tongan Snails
    1 Turbo Snail

    Do you own a cat?
    Carl

Just tell your wife that having a tank teaches you all sorts of new DIY skills...which will save lots of money around the house...so you can buy more stuff for your tank...so you can learn more skills...

Yes I have 2 cats but they are not able to access the aquarium. They sleep in the sunroom and are only allowed in the house when someone is home.
