Hi all... I have a 54g fwlr tank. 50lbs rock, 3" sand substrate, 2 clowns, 1 yellow tang, 2 blue damsles, 1 fire shrimp and 3 small shell crabs. The equipment is 10g w/d, 450gph pump, 65g coralife skimmer and standard lighting that is generally only on for an hour in the morning and 3 hours in the evening. The rock has good coloring and everthing seems healthy.

Just for kicks I have been looking to add a moontube moonlight system. I've always read that the little creatures are active at night so between that and the cool look of the tank with this thing on I'm thinking of buying it.

My question is, has / does anyone else have these types of lights? Is there any real value or is it just having a little moonlight to look at the creatures?

I've never used those particular kinds of moonlights. I use LED moonlights. It's a matter of preference. Some live rock organisms expect a normal lighting sequence of day and night with moon light. But your light process doesn't fit that. So the only benefit I'd see in using the moon lights is if you want to some night spotting.
