mixing questions
everyone's favorite question to answer a resounding NO!
Is it possible to add a juvenile personifer angel to a tank with a regal and potter's angel and still have everyone alive? Tank is 220 gallon. All three are from different genus but as we all know angels are angels and they can be downright nasty to other angels. I don't know if it matters or not but the Regal and Potter's have been living in this tank together for about a month (QT for several months each) and act like the best of friends. I don't know if this will continue or if it may be a lasting relationship because of the size disparity (regal is 5.5" and Potters is about 2"). I am worried about several things. Both Regal and Potter are eating very well and have been for a while. Would another angel stress them enough to make them stop feeding? Both the regal and potters are pretty new to the display tank so if I were to add another angel I would think now would be the time before the regal and potter really establish their territory. |

Re: mixing questions
Yes.
Large Angel collections are quite possible. When the tank is 300 gallons, a couple sub-adult large Angels can co-exist. The trick to have a differential of about 2" between each. Unfortunately, with the 300 the top sized Angel will need to be below 5 inches to give the fish another inch or two to grow before it needs relocating. In very large aquariums (over 600) several of the same sized large adult Angels can co-exist with proper landscaping. You've Angel-maxed out in the size aquarium you have, IMHO. However if you want to give it a go, then just before putting the new fish in, change the landscaping around. This will usually upset the Angels the most (of all fishes). They will usually be 'spooked' by this and become reclusive for a while. You can never tell for sure. The old fish the new fish may all be of a personality that will get along. It goes a very long way to make sure all fish are fed enough and fed proper foods. With proper nutrition, the fishes become more 'relaxed' about newbies coming in to take their food resources (the aquarist).
