When I turn on my aquarium there isn't any red algae growth, but when I come home from work its all over my LR. Does this have anything to do with when the lights are off or my clean up crew??

Lighting and the position the area is looked at can play tricks on the eye. I used to swear there was no 'red algae' in the a.m. and that by p.m. the aquarium was covered with it.
The intensity and hue of this nuisance is light oriented and can at times seem to disappear. They are a bacteria of sorts and quite a nuisance, if that is the red kind you're seeing.

Hi Oddball, do a search for cyanobacteria and see what you come up with. ;;
