    small snails

Silly question maybe...... but I'm thinking of best ways to move snails and serpent star from quaranine to main tank. Most are very small nassirius and cerith snails. I have a glass measuring cup that I use a lot. Snails on the glass..........is there any damage breaking the suction and dropping them in the cup? I'm thinking of trying to put some food and coax the serpent star inside the glass cup?

Well I searched for info that I'm sure exists but really couldn't find anything. Thoughts on how best to handle the little critters?

Breaking a snail's grip on a very smooth surface like glass or acrylic, doesn't seem to harm them. I have never known one to suffer damage providing that the device used doesn't inflict any damage on the snail itself.

I just slide them a bit and they usually voluntarily give up their grip. I would not for example, pull them off or use a scraper.

Baiting the star is a good idea.

Just slide snails with your fingers, they'll let go. Don't try on rock. Bait the star. FYI, green brittle stars eat small fish
