Lion fish vs. Clown Trigger
I have a Clown Trigger that was perfectly fine this afternoon when I came home and now for the past hour or so he has been laying on his side breathing very fast, and he is turning very dark. A little research on the internet says maybe a lion fish sting. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so what can I do for him?

Re: Lion fish vs. Clown Trigger
i cant help your fish persay, but what i can say is its very possible that the lion fish could of stung the trigger fish, if the trigger was attacking the lion.
What size is your tank? What size are the fish? Any other fish in there besides the lion and trigger? james ![]()

Re: Lion fish vs. Clown Trigger
My tank is a 90 gallon. I have 2 Lions (about 4 inches), a Passer angel (4 inches), a maroon clown(2 1/2), and the Clown Trigger (3 in).

Re: Lion fish vs. Clown Trigger
Clown triggers are notoriously aggressive, and if added before the lions or any other fish for that matter it will no doubt think the entire tank is its own personal territory. And as I gets bigger it will assert its self on more fish more often.
I would remove the trigger and take it back to the store for credit, as it will out grow your tank any how, so you will have to at some point remove it or upgrade anyhow. For the time being you could try and rearrange the rock work to try and fool the fish in to thinking its in a new territory, and reduce its aggressiveness but this may or may not work james ![]()

Re: Lion fish vs. Clown Trigger
The Passer was the last fish to join the tank. Before him was the Trigger. What I am wondering though is there anything I can do for him now? It's been about 2 hours since I have found him in this condition. It seems his breating is slowing down a bit, but I'm not sure if that's good or bad...

Re: Lion fish vs. Clown Trigger
Nothing directly you can do for this fish. You can move it to a hospital tank and keep it away from the lionfish until it recovers or move on to the next dimension.
In the hospital tank you can help it out by lowering the specific gravity to 1.016 over a 2-day period. When the fish recovers, raise the specific gravity back to 'normal' over a 3-day period.

Re: Lion fish vs. Clown Trigger
Ok so here it is a day later and he is doing absolutely fine. Last night his breathing started to get more regular and by this morning his color was normal again. He has no marks on him like he did get stung so I'm not sure what happened to him. Anyone have any ideas? At least he is OK now though!!!
