Quarantine Tank - Re-"Seeding"

I have just recently established a quarantine tank
20 Gallon
Heater
2-Whisper Power Filter 10....my question is regarding re-seeding of the tank. I recently removed the carbon filter of the 2 whisper power filters because i began using Cupramine to treat my sick fish. The only item left in the filters is the Bio-Foam. I have read that when setting up a QT tank you can place the bio-foam in the main tank a week before use so bacteria can colonize and then used to seed tank. My question is do i need to purcahse new bio-foam after treating my QT with cupramine or will the use of carbon later on in QT remove all copper making it safe to place bio-foam in DT to re-seed it.

Also has anyone used Whipser Filters as QT filters? and are the Bio-Foam included sufficient enough to house enough bacteria, or should i place an additional sponge in the filter, or will this affect the proper filtration?

Any information would be helpful?
thanks

IMO don't put the filter from the QT back in the display, they should be seperated always. Just the smallest somunt of copper can ruin a reef tank.

I agree. I try to use hyposalinity whenever possible but if Cu is used the foam filters are thrown out. If it's a tank that Cu has ever been used in the filters are thrown out. I always keep new ones in the overflows of the display so I can use them when I need to.
