I'm new to saltwater and wanted to know if I need special lighting, or can I use a regular 1 strip light for a FOWLR aquarium? does live rock need light? what will you suggest for a 75 FOWLR aquarium? thanks..... I'm going crazy here with people telling me different things
For the most part, you want lighting for the FOWLR system that is appealing to your eye -- one that highlights the colors of the fish and brings out their brilliance.
LR does need light, if you want/wish to encourage the spread of the coralline or other algae around. Actinics will be sufficient for this. Beyond that. . .It is all in the eye of the beholder.
