Short answer: Stack the live rock on the outside of the new rock. That is, remove LR, put in base rock, replace LR on top, in front, on sides of the new rock.
Keep the LR exposed to the aquarium water and not 'buried.'
Hello....i have some base rock that has been dry for over a year. I would like to add some height to my tank which has 50lbs of live rock in it now, but it is mostly smaller rocks that don't add a lot of height. How would i go about doing that the safest way. My tank is 7 months old by the way.
Thanks,
Garrett
