I have a friend who just picked up a "naso" tang, or so he says. It does not look like any of the pictures on the internet that i have seen. The body color is a cream color (like the naso) but it has horizontal stripes down both sides. When you stick your hand in the tank to feed, it turns a darker brown color.
It looks more like the one in this picture...
I will try and get an actual picture of the fish and post it later.
Didn't think it was a naso...Anyway, i brought my camera over to get a pic and every time anyone gets close to the tank, the tang swims behind the rock until you leave...is this normal behavior? If you watch it down the hallway, it swims around like normal. It has only been in the tank for a day now.
Yup, that is normal for a new fish. You may have to give it a few days, OR you can camp out by the tank for a while, eventually it MAY come out with you being close.
OK, so i camped out by the tank for a while and this is the best pic i could get. He is brown in this picture, but when he thinks no one is watching he is a very light blue color with stripes and the top fin is yellow.
Please help me to identify this fish!!!
