Any use for crushed coral from previous owner

Hello:

I got some crushed coral from the previous owner along w/ the tank. i am planning to put sand bed in the tank, so I already go some live sand. My question is, if I need some more, should i add like some crushed coral? I read it somewhere that I should not reuse the crushed coral since I don't know what is in it. Any use for the crushed coral?

Do not use crushed coral to top off your sand bed, it will eventually rise to the top and act as a detritus trap. Simply discard it, especially since you do not know if any medications were used in the tank by the previous owner of it.

Please use guides for constructing sand bed provided in this article.
