aggressive clowns
Hey,
I've got a 65g FOWLR tank with two very aggressive tank raised black percula clowns. They have killed my small huma huma trigger and now they just killed my juvi blonde naso tang. I'm not sure what I can do, I;m almost afraid to put anything else in the tank for fear of the clowns attacking |

Re: aggressive clowns
WELCOME TO REEFLAND!
Anemonefish are a sub-group of the marine fishes known as Damsels. Like Damsels, they can be very aggressive to other fishes. Probably these two now consider the display tank to be their personal property. If you want to break them out of this concept, it will require some work on your part. Hopefully you are using a quarantine process. If not, you should review this post: A Fish Quarantine Process You should have two other aquariums on hand for this process. One is the quarantine tank and one will be the tank for the two Anemonefish. Get them up and running with their own biological filter in place. Quarantine one fish you want to stock into your display. When that fish is about to come out of quarantine, then move the two Anemonefish into the second aquarium (about 15 gallons would be okay). The fishless display tank aquascaping is now completely changed/altered so it no longer resembles the tank it used to be. Put into the first fish that passed quarantine. If you want to add another fish, then proceed to quarantine the next fish and put it into the display when that quarantine period is over. When the fish you want to keep are in the display and have been for a while (at least a couple of weeks AFTER the last addition), then add to that display tank the two Anemonefish. The hope here is that the other fish will have established themselves and the Anemonefish will think they have entered into a new territory where other fish are already established. If this doesn't work, and there is a small chance it won't, then the two Anemonefish will have to be traded for others, or you'll have to let them have the display to themselves. Good luck!
