WELCOME TO REEFLAND!
The best thing would have been if the fish was first put into quarantine where it could settle down and learn how and what to eat. This is covered here: A Fish Quarantine Process
These fish are wild and need time to adjust to captivity. Some don't. It is hard to say what this fish will or won't due, however it isn't unusual for a fish to hide when it has been through all this fish has been through.
As an aside, I hope you have a long aquarium for this fish. They belong in an aquarium that is at least 6 feet long. They swim a lot and need tank length.
Good luck!![]()
