New Lion fish, not eating frozen??

Anyone have any tricks no gettin a lion to feed on frozen , silversides?? I just got him , he is about 4" LONG. I brought him hom with some feeder guppies, and he just loves them , but I heard he nds salt water fish??? any help would be greatly apprciated.... Wooody

WELCOME TO REEFLAND!

The advice about not feeding Lionfish with freshwater fishes is very sound. Freshwater fishes have the wrong kind of fat and the Lionfish eventually dies 'for no apparent reason' when it has died from internal disorders caused by the wrong fat.

Food on the stick is one good approach. To get to this point, you may need to take an intermediate step. Kill a guppy. Freeze it. Thaw it. Put it on a stick and move it around near the Lionfish.

The Lionfish is enticed by movement (food on a stick) until it gets the idea that the food on the stick doesn't have to move for it to snap it up.
