FNG(Funny New Guy)?

Ok as the title states I'm new at this. I have had a freshwater tank for the last three years without any problems. So now the wife and I have decided to start a FOWLR tank. I will be using a 75 gallon tank fulval 404 filter, 530gph skimmer, two PHs, heater and so on with the equipment. I want to get live rock but I don't know what kind to get, I've asked around and have been told something different at every place. Some say get uncured and cure it in the tank duing setup, while others say to get cured. I'm trying to do this over time so I'm not in a rush, however I would like to get all of the rock at once. I have found a place(flordia live rock) where I can get base rock for $1.99lb and premium rock $2.99lb. A total of $185 for the 75lbs of rock. What are some comments on this. I also know I won't have fish in the tank for a few months, not a problem for me. I want to take my time and do this right, so any tips and tricks will be great.

Hey Mark, Well, I would say cured liverock, as it is probably less likely to contain critters that you don't want in your tank. The types of LR are up to you. Fiji rock is usually large rounded pieces, haitian is usually flat long pieces, ect. You can look up different types online for characteristics. I like to mix and match pieces in person from the fish store if possible to match what kind of structure I want to have in the rock. I hope this helps a bit!

Plus another reason I would stay away from uncured is that it will likely have a lot of organisms that will die-off and will only make it take longer for your tank to cycle.
