will driftwood affect my water????

I have two large pieces of driftwood thhat look really nice in the tank with the live rock. Is this allowed does it add anything to the water or increase any particular contaminate levels?

Wood is organic and will decay in saltwater, adding to the poisons the fish create, making it very dangerous to ornamental marine fishes. Use artificial wood if you like the look.

Also I know in fw tanks it will leach tannins into the water, turning the water a yellowish brown. In a sw tank this would probably look terrible.
