I have two large pieces of driftwood thhat look really nice in the tank with the live rock. Is this allowed does it add anything to the water or increase any particular contaminate levels?

Also I know in fw tanks it will leach tannins into the water, turning the water a yellowish brown. In a sw tank this would probably look terrible.
