He Bit me!

I was cleaning out some hitch-hiker live rock and my medium sized domino (black 3 spotted damselfish) bit me! Left a little mark, and it just felt like a pinch. Is that usual? I fed him right after (not to reward him, but so he won't bite). -_-

In my experience, that one fish can be the nastiest on God's green earth. They are territorial, and just plain nasty.

They are not scared of anything, they will bite you almost every time

I think I'm going to donate him back to the LFS ... if I can get him out of the tank!!! Maybe this weekend...

what does that mean? you'd flush him do the toilet?! but that's his natural way... I'm part of the system that took him away from his natural habitat, where he'd never bite me (unless i went to visit)!

Ha, he knew very well I wasn't food. He was defending his territory/tank!

Anyway, I don't really want to keep this guy. I never did. My LFS keeper had me tank him home since he's hardy and will be good for a new tank. [Note: I now understand this to be a no-no, so no need to remind me I did something wrong ] He said I could donate him back in a month. If you forgot, my tank is still cycling. :-\ It's been about 1.5 weeks now. But I may have to start over since I did a 50% water change this past weekend. I know that during cycling, you shouldn't do water changes so frequently, but in order to hang my protein skimmer on the backside, I had to move the tank up an inch (ended up moving it up 3 inches). In order to move the heavy thing, I removed all live rock and took out half the water.

Anyway, until I do another water change (and take out the live rock), it's going to be too hard to get that guy out of the tank. So I'll wait another couple of weeks before moving out that biting fish. Yeah? :-x
