After some discussions among fellow hobbyists, I am starting an effort to build FAQ web pages for all common salt water aquarium fish species. The goal is to present experience and knowledge from hobbyists about each species in an easy-to-use format. The current plan is to start a discussion on a particular fish species every week on the Marine and Reef forum at Aqualink (Look for thread starting with “Fish Report #”), asking everybody for their experiences and observations with a questionnaire (see the current thread here). After a week the thread is moved to the new forum, “Fish Report”, where it will remain open for input (see the previous thread here). Then I will ask a volunteer who has had long term success keeping the fish to write a review/article about the species, and put together a FAQ web page about the species based on everybody’s input and the review. Here is the web site where I’ll put the FAQs: http://www22.brinkster.com/seafan
We just started this project last week and the first FAQ is online now. Anybody who has kept the species discussed could contribute, and we need as much input as possible to make this work. I hope you could stop by and contribute your experience and knowledge, and help all of us to learn more about the fish we love! |

hi sounds like a great idea in fact i'll be sure to keep reading it i love reading stuff like that. just a few pointers though if i may.....a) check some of the spelling i saw a few mis-spellings.....thats about as minor of a detail as you can get i know but just thought i'd toss that out there.....b) i have a little bit of a problem with this particular question and answer
"Q: Is this fish best kept in mature/established (6 months or older) tank? A: No problem with going into a new tank. " this statement to an uninformed person meens he/she may go out buy a tank add some salt water and as soon as the water clears you can toss this guy *humu humu trigger* in the tank before cycling it. i think we all agree and know the tank should be established first but a newcomer may not. and c) personally i cant wait for the lionfish one to come out that i will deffinitely look forward to...might i suggest you talk to frank aka fmarini....this man is a guru when it comes to lions/scorpionfish and cardinals too. he already has this great lionfish info sheet made up w/ tons of pics ask him for it i think you'd find gobs and gobs of info. for your site. good luck and i'm looking forward to reading more on these fish.
