New to this site, new to tanks, heres my day 1 pictures!

New to this salt water tank thing, never had one.. ive done my research and decided to go for it.. its a 55 gal, w.2 coral brand or w.e lights ive ordered my kolora #4 to get my good flow on, and have the rock getting ready to go in, im thinking tomarrow they will be ready to go in, then the fish(im trying to get a shark.. im not shure which kind and suggestions?? . im new to the site but i will keep updated! and will have some questions if i get lost;;

If I may add one more thing, please don't put any sharks in your small aquarium. It is cruel and inhumane to keep large fish like sharks in 55g aquariums.

Is the rock you obtained was 'live' rock? It doesn't look very much alive.

New to the hobby! Welcome! Hopefully you've done a lot of reading. I would recommend more reading -- not only read this one, but follow along with it:

Is that hanging filter on the back your only filtering device? Or do you plan on setting up a sump? Those hang on deals work for running water through media bags (carbon, phosphate removers, etc.) but that's about it. If you don't want to challenge a sump, I know people that use fluval's, a 305 would work for a 55 gallon. Like leebca said, I would check into that rock. If it's not cured live rock, you will run into a heap of problems getting your tank started. Good luck, don't try to start off too fast getting crazy exotic fish until you can keep the cheap ones alive. I know it is hard to resist.
