i have just recently bought 2 jf and they dont seem to be doing much i have 3-5 inches of fine ls and cc but they havent started digging its been almost 2 days so far but my lfs said they should start digging out their burrows quickly anybody know thanks!

Actually, fine sand doesn't make good burrowing material. Such substrate doesn't hold its 'shape.'

So just how fine is the fine sand? Are you talking about powdered sugar size, beach sand size, or ?

its carib-sea live atlantic sand its got some chunkys pieces and i coleccted a bag of cc and pebly stuff in between the the reefs a few days ago!

If it's the right substrate, and of the right depth, then I can't understand it not borrowing.

i actually just moved him into a tank that i had a pairof jf before and now i just have a few neon gobies in it and i guess he liked that better because when i came back he was already digging out a hole and still is so thank you for your help
