Anemone help

Hi, I am new to Marine tanks and I have a long tentacle anemone in my tank, I have a small (20 gal) tank and I keep waking up and finding my anglerfish being smothered by the anemone. I was wondering if this is ok because it seems like the anemone has paralized him and I have had to save the anglerfish during a couple of these mishaps. Any tips?,

It sounds like your anemone is hungry, or is just moving around in the tank. You might want to try feeding him by hand. Or keep your fish out of the tank for awhile till the anemone finds a place to sit. In the past the anemones I have had will stay in one general spot after about a week or two. Just don't move things around in the tank or it will move again. let me know if feeding him helps you at all. Also, try feeding him like a big chunk of frozen shrimp or dried shrimp. I have seen a 2" anemone eat a quarter size chunk of shrimp a day.

This morning I woke up to a deceased anglerfish . I did some more research and found this may be common for purple tip haitians. I guess I made a rookie mistake and now I will have to reap the consequences. I am thinking the problem might have been the anglerfish was just too slow-moving to escape the grasps of the anemone.
