Wow. nice post
I've had this Yellow Watchman goby for about five years. A couple months ago a fish store owner (Steve at Pasadena Tropical Fish) told me the females were yellow and the males were a pale greenish color. I've seen those pale green watchman gobies but thought they were a different species. So when I found that out I asked him to get me a male and he got it last Sunday. After acclimating I placed him right near where the old YWG lives (under the sand with a pair of Tiger Pistol shrimp-- I paired the shrimp up about a year and a half ago). After a minute or so she came up to investigate. There was a lot of posturing and then the male started the submissive spazz out stuff. That went on for a little while and then they both disappeared into the sand cave- together! The female came up the next morning but I didn't see the male and I was worried because the male is so small. Thought he might disappear in the night... He's pretty tiny- maybe 1/4 the size of the female. The next day I saw the male- they'd paired up right before my eyes... that was so cool![]()
Blennies and Gobies are the coolest fish in the ocean! Latest video of my tank.
