Community shrimp

I'd like to add 1 or 2 Cleaner shrimp to my tank that already houses 2 Peppermint shrimp and an Emerald crab. Is there any potential problem?

i wouldnt see why not. Cleaner shrimp are great as they are very brave and Get rid of parasites. Etc.


id reccomend 2 scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp.

you can even put your hand in the tank and they will clean dead skin off your hand!


they remove parasites. even ich. and clean the fish completely. no matter if its a 1" guppy to a 1 1/2' porcupine puffer.



They are great.


ONe potential problem would be The emerald crab.. but if you already have other peppermint shrimp in there and he doesnt bother them. chances are hes not going to bother the scarlet cleaner.

Shrimp are territorial and surprsingly viscious to one another. It will depend upon their species and personality and whether or not the current ones have staked out a terrirtory or not.
