BLAHHH right?
Hello, Has anyone ever noticed how bland a FOWLR setup can be? I thought it would be cool to hear some opinions and stories about what people have done to spice up their tanks.
lets hear it![]()
BLAHHH right?
Got a sump to relocate the heater to?
Is that purple stuff fake? I'd get rid of it, but that's personal taste.
You might reconsider the undergravel filter. They can be a maintenance and water quality problem.
Get some larger pieces of live rock. Splurge for the nicest stuff that you can.
Get some fish.(But only if your tank is cycled and ready.)
Snails.
Is this a new setup? If so, take your time.
It looks like it may be a smaller tank. Be careful not to overpopulate, and choose smaller fish. 6 cheap chromis will school around, and can look more interesting than a single, larger fish.
Let us know how long the tank has been set up, and if you have a potential stocking list that you're considering.
I have an Eclipse 3 hood so, no under gravel filter
and I have 1 green chromis, ocellaris clown, Diamond goby, and a six line. so there are fish haha
How many gallons? You might be near your fish limit.
I'm not sure I would add chromis now (as I suggested previously), as it might be too much of a bio load. Also best to add them all at the same time I believe. And you already have one in there.
More live rock (a few large encrusted pieces), and a dark background.
Have fun, and take your time.
The tank is cycled ive had it about 3 months now, and yeahh i wasnt planning on adding much more, its a 30 gallon.
Keep a close watch on your water quality, and keep up with water changes.
Adding more quality live rock will not only look good, it will help with your water quality and stability.
Make sure to buy cured rock, or cure it carefully at home, in a separate container. If you don't know about this, ask. Throwing uncured rock in your 30 gallon tank could cause a crisis.
