55 Gallon Build

First I want to say that thanks to this site my wife and I have finally learned enough and gained the courage to throw our hat into the saltwater ring.

This being our first SW tank we are going to be taking things Stupid slow. 1) becuase we don't want to rush anything and 2) we need to save for stuff lol.

We started the project back in Decemberish. We had a tank, stand and some powerheads and a mechanical filter given to us by one of my co-workers when his mom upgraded to her new 250. I work retail so actually planning and prepping got put off till January. In January I refinished the entire stand (to stay it needed it is an understatement I wish I had before pics of it) And with that the save began. This past weekend we got the tank in place and filled with water and the substrate. Lights and live rock are on order and will be here thursday (unless fedex screws up).

It's not much to look at at this point but hey we all have to start someplace.

Just my luck I get home to find my klight fixture sitting there staring at me. I go inside to set it up. Wouldn't you know it one of the tubes is shattered. Oh well replacement being sent out for free. Bring on the week of giving. Test kit and heater tomorrow rock on thursday.
