If the fish has its own place to settle down at night, there shouldn't be any worry about it getting enough rest time.
I'd say the fish might be getting a bit lazy/bored.
I have had this Hippo Tang for 10years.It is 8in.long and about 2in.thick and active as can be.Just now getting it's diet the way it should be thanks to ppl.here.Anyway she will be swimming around like normal and just stop on the LR, and.... its like it's like she takes about a rest for about 30sec. then takes off back to normal. This only happens in like a 1or2 hour time frame during the day.I run 10hours with the light on. Cut it back maybe?

It's the stangest thing I have seen since I have gotten into salt tanks. She stops in the same place everytime The rock dips down like a little cradle stops all movement except her gills for like 30sec.give or take a few sec. unless you walk up on the tank. Then just takes off like nothing ever happened. The tank does have a lot of circulation but this has started recently.the color is the best I have seen in over a year no spots or signs of disease.![]()
