My 2month-old aquarium. Feel free to help

Hey guys, first post on the site!

Set up the aquarium about 2 months ago. Let it cycle a little less than a month and bought a couple false perc clowns. Unfortunately, one of them seemed odd the next day and the day after turned white and died. The other clown is really healthy and loving its home. A week and a half ago I picked up a yellow tang (I know it should be moved when larger). It also is very healthy and is munching on the green seaweed and pellets I feed it. It had a sucky home at Petco and now its fins are growing back and all so its doing really well with the clown and assorted snails in the tank. Three days ago I picked up three green chromis. One of them is hiding a little (I've done research and I see this is common) but the other 2 are schooling and havin a blast. The two of them school by themselves and the third joins in when its not busy hiding.

I've got a lot of green algae hangin at the bottom of the tank, but I'm pretty sure its because I must have left the tang's seaweed clip in there too long and it dispersed and settled on the bottom.

I also have some brown algae stuff that hangs in the gravel and I would like another way to clean it besides water changes. Let me know what would help!

    Thanks!

I'm unsure whose advice and recommendations you are following, but I wouldn't listen to them anymore -- they don't know what they're doing and following their advice is hurting your fish.

The tank is too young to be stocking it this quickly. The procedure best to follow is this: Setting Up a FOWLR Aquarium

I don't easily see the clean-up crew, skimmer, chemical and mechanical filtration, so I'm concerned about the equipment in your setup.

By stocking so fast, the tank isn't able to settle down and adjust properly. Stop adding marine life. Read the above post and slow down, otherwise you'll just lose more fishes. You will, I think, enjoy the hobby more if you don't cause the fish harm and provide a steady, stable environment.

These are two other good posts for you to read and use for guidance:

    and
    The Mature Aquarium

    Good luck!
