What type of filtration are you using?

How much live rock do you have? Got a skimmer? List all of your equipment if you can please. With a 30 gallon tank, youre very limited with how many fish you can have. If you do add more, they have to be a relatively small species.
Also, how old is the set up?

6 lbs. of live rock, no skimmer, a few odds an end decorations, 2 inches of sand all the way around and set up for goin on six months.

    Cool Re: new to marine

Before you add any more living fish, corals or inverts you should add 40 more pounds of live rock and a protein skimmer plus a refugium if you can afford one the same size that would be great. This would double the capacity of your current display. Happy Reefing!!!!

Definitely need plenty more live rock. A good skimmer goes a long way too.
There's a sticky on this forum called "setting up a FOWLR aquarium". There's a plethora of excelent information in there and IMO, it should be followed by every new marine hobbyist. While you're there, there are a few more stickies about water quality and fish tank stocking limits that are great reads. The articles are written by the moderator of this forum and the fish disease, health/ care forum (Leebca). He probably has more knowledge about this stuff than your local library. Happy reading and good luck!

    Re: new to marine

The tank is stocked to its limit now. No room for any new fishes.

The star doesn't belong in such a small aquarium. They are more suitable for a large tank. The Anemonefish, if you intend them to be a pair need about a 45 gallon tank to be most comfortable IF the type of Anemonefish you have are the smaller kinds. For instance, for Maroons you'd want a 60 gallon or larger, since the female gets to be over 6 inches in size.

You should read some of the stickies in this and other Forums here on Reefland. I suggest you read and follow these two:
    Setting Up a FOWLR Aquarium
    and
Fish Stocking Limit - for FO and FOWLR

The best success with a marine aquarium is one with the minimum (not maximum) marine lifeforms of the proper types for the size and type of system provided.
