Stocking ideas?

Hey all

I have a 55 gallon tank, I guess its the least desired taller tank 12 wide 48 long and about 20 high. To help with filtration I have built a refugium out of a 30 gallon tank. its going to have some mineral mud with a 1 inch cap of aragonite snow. Main display is going to be tropic of eden aragonite that will be seeded and live rock. I have a reef octopus HOB skimmer.

Does anyone have any suggestions or recomendations for colorful tiny saltwater fish (reef safe cuz thats my next big plan lol). I read the stickys on the main forum page about stocking limmit but, Id love other peoples ideas on fish types. I also would like a clean up crew in main display as well as in fuge.

Hi TuReal; I think the 30 gallon refugium is a great idea,I have a 38 gallon fuge. If you want I can send you some cheato algea it grows soo much I trade it in for frags at my local fish store. I would stay away from angels and tangs because you will have to trade them in.Their are alot of choices,I have a coral beauty , royal gramma,red male scooter , 3-tr clowns,3 red firefish , 6 chromises and a 6-line wrasse plus a green bubble-tip anenome a striped serpant star 3 emerald crbs assorted hermits and snails and a halloween hermit,and alot of corals...... I would not put a clean up crew in your refugium because you want stuff to grow in their with-out being eaten so the refugium flora can feed your corals and later on if you want to get a dragonet that feeds on copepods. I have always had deep sand beds so I could get a jawfish. You can never go wrong wiyh any gobies or blennies they are great community fish that wil not outgrow your set-up Happy Reefing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
