    Newb needs some help :(

hey guys ive had my tank for almost 2 months now and my cycle ended about a month and a half ago. Its a 55g FOWLR. cascade 1200 filter, UV sterilizer etc. I have a lionfish, a yellowtail damsel, a snowflake eel and yesterday added a white spotted grouper.

onto my problem after adding my grouper my lionfish keeps on trying to eat/bit him. I fed all my fish before adding him bc i didnt want this to happen. So now the lionfish keeps going at the grouper. Is this a territorial thing? the lionfish and the grouper are about the same size. I have a QT so i could put him in there if i had to. thanks in advance guys

The eel, lionfish and grouper all belong in something much larger than a 55. Those are all predator fish, and would do best in species only tanks. Otherwise, they are going to keep trying to eat eachother.

Also, that tank is too young for so many large fish already. It's doubtful the cycle finished within 2 weeks. Check your ammonia, and nitrites again. If they are not 0, the tank is still cycling.

My levels have all be 0 for the past month and a half. and pH has been 8.2-8.3.
I Had the brown sand for a week and a half then got green alge about half a week later. and all my levels were 0. I have read that the cycle can be a fast as two weeks or as long as 2 months.

All the fish are small. Lion fish is about 3 inchs and grouper is a little bigger than him. I understand they will get bigger. I have two options for when they out grow the tank. My friend who has a 180g tank wants my lion fish and in the near future i plan on doing a 200g+ tank. This is the get my feet wet tank. the eel is a baby as well

In the current space provided, they are exhibiting a stress of territory, even as small as they are. If you feed those fishes properly, they may need a larger tank in a few months.
