will a 20 gallon tank be sufficient fo breeding common clowns and what anenome do i use and any advise on breeding them and rearing the young.

That size tank is sometimes used by breeders. It contains no substrate and very little decorations and no inverts or clean up crew. If you really want to keep a pair of Anemonefish of the smaller species, start with a 29 gallon tank. If you want to keep a pair of larger species of Anemonefishes, like the Maroon, then go for a 45 gallon.
