    newbe qustion

    just set up a 55g tank how long should it take for water to clear up

    Are you talking about sand in the water column? A little more info would be good. If it is from the sand, a couple to few days should be all it takes.

    i thank its the sand not sure filled tank monday afternoon the tank is fogy looking

    Hopefully you are reading and following the post: Setting up a FOWLR Aquarium sticky. The cloudiness should go away in a few days, assuming you have proper/good filtration, circulation, and have cleaned the substrate before using it. The less the cleaning effort, the longer the cloud will hang around.

    Depending on your flow and filtering capacity. Should only be like FoMoCo said.

    If you have any extra filter socks or the sock material you can attach it to your powerheads with an elastic to polish the water quicker!!!
