    Two shrimpgoby/shrimp pairs in a 29 biocube?

I have a watchman goby in my 29 boicube. His original shrimp got mean and I had to give it away. To replace it I got the only pistol shrimp that I knew would stay small - a randall's pistol shrimp. The new pistol won't pair up with the goby because the goby had a growth spurt and got too big. If I were to get a slightly larger pistol and a smaller goby - say a yasha or hifin - would there be any problems between the two pairs? The big goby is very gentle. He never bites, and if something annoys him and won't leave he pushes it away with his head. I don't know how much liverock I have, but most of the bottom is covered, so plenty of room for digging.
I really hate it when people say "it's only a $3/$5/$1 fish/shrimp, so it's ok if it dies" TREAT ALL ANIMALS LIKE THEY COST $10,000!!!!!!http://dragcave.net/image/QnMBQ.gifhttp://dragcave.net/image/DCQDb.gifhttp://dragcave.net/image/8qT9W.gifhttp://dragcave.net/image/CP52M.gifhttp://dragcave.net/image/P7mZ4.gifplease click a link, it's nothing bad.

Generally, the larger fish has an intimidating factor on the shrimp. The two will most likely get along if the shrimp overlooks the fish's size. It will depend on the particular personality of the shrimp. Most shrimps should avoid the larger fish.

The problem is the goby doesn't fit in the burrow, as the pistol is only 3/4" long. What I want to know is if I add a larger shrimp for the current goby and a smaller goby for the current shrimp, will there be any problems? The current yellow watchman is very gentle.

The two gobies will most likely be the problem. Even if the shrimp sort things out, the gobies are pretty territorial. They will most liely fight. In that size aquarium, it generally speaking, won't work.

I have a firefish goby with him, and he never does more than puff his mouth if it gets too close. He's old, which may help. What kind of fighting will I get? Just puffing, or something more bitey?

Gobies take on other Gobies in a rather interesting way. Sometimes they will attempt to grab each other on their jaw, kind of jaw-to-jaw. Wagging or shaking then their opponent. This can break bones, but most likely one is telling the other to get away. Since the size of aquarium really isn't large enough for each to have their own territory, the tension will persist.
