Coral sand OK for FO?

Hi:
what the heck is coral sand??? you mean crushed coral?, or do you mean ground coral which looks like sand particles?, or do you mean these calcium carbonate derived sands-like southdown or carib-sea? So to answer your question indirectly...yes..all the substrates will work, some will require more work on your part than others my opinion frank |

The coarser the snad the more the excess foods and fish waste will be able to settle into the sand and then you will have vacume your gravel at least once a mounth.
Coarse sand will be fine just more work. Fine sand keeps the excess on top so crabs and clean up crew can take care of it for you. |

Sorry about the lack of detail, geez, gimme a break already. I have seen this stuff at lfs before, comes in a clear bag with blue label that says "natural coral sand". Imported by some company in Inglewood, Ca. from China. I believe it did say something about calcium-carbonate. Is mixed grade 0 and 1. Based on comments above I guess it will be fine so I plan to use it for 85 fowlr tank. Thanks.
